During Habits de Lumière, all the festivities take place directly on the Avenue de Champagne — the parades, champagne bars, light shows, and even the silent disco. It’s really the heart of the celebration, and the surrounding streets stay completely calm.

Do wineries in Épernay produce non-sparkling wines?

That’s a great question! Even though Champagne is, of course, famous worldwide for its sparkling wines, the region also produces what’s called Coteaux Champenois. These are still wines — either red or white — made from the same grapes as Champagne.

They’re much rarer, and only a handful of producers make them each year. If you’re curious to taste something different, it’s worth asking during a visit, because some winemakers will have a small production of Coteaux Champenois available alongside their Champagne.

I have a quick question… I’d like to surprise my boyfriend (who is absolutely crazy about your champagne) with something special at your amazing place.

We’ve spontaneously decided to head to Reims/Epernay with our camper van this Friday evening. It was his birthday last Friday, and I think it would be really wonderful to have a picnic with him — for example, in a beautiful vineyard or a garden with a view.

Do you know of a place close to the cities? We have electric bikes, and I’m also looking for a cute, small campsite for the nights. It’s quite hard to find the right spot when you’re not there in person.

Hopefully, you might have some golden tips for us!
